What I liked

I loved the writing and the acting and the succinct blocking and stage design was perfect! Ben Hethcoat especially knew how to take the stage, but I was most impressed with his ability to listen to his fellow actors and respond to what he was given. Luke Forbes also did a stellar job of giving life to a young “W” and David McElwee had me laughing throughout. Corsica Wilson had me cheering at the end with the development of her character, which could have been just another stereotype, but one which she turned on its head.

What I didn't like

At the end of the show, there isn’t really a precise message tied up in a bow, so if there was one I missed it. But this play made me want to go out and research Lee Atwater, which is a perfect response to shows like this, in my opinion.

My overall impression

A concise journey exploring the character of Lee Atwater and his impact on our political discourse
