What I liked

The music was incredible. “What Do You See In Me” has been stuck in my head all week. The drums were super talented, and to be able to come up with a full physical dialogue and language off of the beat was very engaging. I felt as if I were bouncing along with the action on stage.

All of the actors were great, and the dialogue from John Wuchte dropped me into the world and the time. I really felt as if I were watching the drama behind Gone With the Wind unfold in my own life.

What I didn't like

The gossiper moment felt a bit long, and I think those characters could have been fleshed out more through the show.

I understand the point of the style is to bring out a story with the drums, but I feel like the piece could have benefited greatly by having a cast full of dancers and not just actor/movers.

My overall impression

Fun, riveting, pulsing, Scarlett Fever brings you into a world of rhythm and ego as artists and producers alike try to find the secret to “it”. Very well written, with good acting and some great choreography, you will be glued to the action from first drum beat to last.
