What I liked

The drumming literally giving us each beat of the text, and its use before and during the show, superb. The depictions of the opposing factors, alliances and betrayals which can be difficult for an audience to follow, were made easy in this production by plainly identifying them as different Star Trek species.

What I didn't like

Longer than we expected, but absorbing and delightful throughout.

My overall impression

Kit Marlowe would have loved this. The epic scale of the Tamburlaine tryannic tragedy translates so well into inter-galactic space. Trekkies would love the details and the way the actors conveyed the posture and quirks of each species. Classical scholars would love the reverence and delivery of each line – the poetry magnifies by being presented in what I would say was a period acting style, and yet so Klingon – magnificent theatre! Bravo.
