It’s just fun. Doesn’t really have to be more than that.
What I didn't like
Doug isn’t the most wildly screwball of cartoons, so it lends itself a little better to a stage adaptation than other shows from the same era. I suppose there’s always farther to push in the imagination sequences, but they are entertaining ways of staging them as is.
My overall impression
It’s the pilot episode of “Doug!”
Nothing really else to say about that. It’s clear the cast is having a good time, and I find that even more entertaining than half-remembering the show from decades past. It’s a fun way to engage with memories of pop culture.
