Nicole, the play’s writer and sole performer, does a huge cannon-ball into the shame and vulnerability pool! She moves seamlessly between the characters of her own tragic story: herself, her parents, and the leader of the cult in which her family lived during her childhood. Not sure how a person can make this depth and level of childhood trauma both relatable and funny, but she does! The audience was crying, laughing and singing out loud!
What I didn't like
This show needs no improvement. The only thing it needs is to be seen.
My overall impression
Raw and heartbreaking but somehow fun and funny, too!
