Gunfight is a laugh-out-loud funny Wild West romp in the style of G&S — for the musical theater aficionado and novice alike, this show has something for everyone. The cast are energetic and hilarious, and their dialogue felt almost like improv sketch comedy, which worked incredibly well. This short, one-act show is a great addition to the Fringe Festival. I would highly recommend checking it out!... full review

Full writeup at https://cahighways.org/wordpress/?p=15387 It was a great Fringe show, and would have been a perfect headliner at the Tumbleweed Festival, a “wild-west” equivalent of the Renaissance Faire. However, the show was not ready for prime time — “prime time” being the traditional Opera or Operetta stage. For that, it needs some work and to decide what it wants to be when it grows up. I only laughed once in 52 minutes but came away impressed by the cast of 11 (6m/5f), most with Fine singing voices (and some really Dynamic ones), which deserved more dignified showcasing. The NEXT venue for this swamp of Western cliches will likely be a church basement. Director Jennifer Clymer, whose involvement I was supporting, kept it moving along a pro path better than it merited. Not really "Gilbert-&-Sullivan Out West", as advertised, more a lame spoof of Puccini's "Girl of the Golden West". Is there a market for THAT, besides Friends and Family? Should be retitled "Gunfight at the Jack Spratt Saloon" to better support Truth in Advertising!... full review
