After almost fifty years since its premiere, Eva Peron by Copi is still a highly relevant work of art which should be celebrated by Los Angeles audiences particularly queer Latinos. TA’YER wishes to expand the dialogue of queer aesthetics and politics, promote Spanish speaking theater, celebrate the rich parlance of Latin American Spanish, and bring together a diverse population which often gets ignored despite its large presence. GRUPO TA’YER’s mission is to use the arts to address issues raised in the community and to foster further discussion and understanding of these issues. The collective provides emerging artists and community members with technical and artistic training and exploration in a variety of disciplines from professional artists. Our organization works exhaustively to give exposure to emerging artists and to maintain and develop audiences.
