What I liked

The photos and home movies took this show to a whole ’nother level as we got to walk down memory lane with the creator.

What I didn't like

Absolutely nothing. It’s phenomenal.

My overall impression

Clementine is billed as a show about finding and losing yourself in motherhood, but it is also a tender and beautiful love letter to April Wish’s mother, her grandmother, and her daughter. Incredibly funny, and also wonderfully touching, Wish shines as she seamlessly and organically takes us back and forth through time as she explores motherhood from her current lens, but also what she thought it was when she was a child, and how she never, ever saw herself having babies.

Jessica Lynn Johnson’s direction was perfect in taking us on a rollercoaster of emotional levels, and Wish’s writing is superb.

My cheeks hurt from smiling, I cackled at so many hilarious jokes, and my throat was sore from crying.

This beautiful and tender show is full of so much love. Highly, highly recommend. You’ll leave the theatre on an emotional high, and drive home fondly recalling your own memories of your own mother and grandmother.
