Funny, well-paced, charming, poignant and for so many of us who struggle to “make it in the real world” – highly relatable.
What I didn't like
Christi Pedigo tells us she “can’t sing, can’t dance, can’t act”. She sings poorly a few times and it’s funny (though I got the sense she really can sing and chose to be funny instead), she doesn’t really dance, but she does act. She’s a wonderful performer and my only criticism would be that she sells herself short as an actress. Bunny is a persona, and adorable and quirky, but when we see Roberta (her character’s “real name”) be so raw and vulnerable there’s no doubt that Christi Pedigo CAN act. I wanted a bit more of that rich, deep layer underneath the cheerful elf.
My overall impression
“Feel-good” is an overused expression and most things don’t really make us feel THAT good. Bunny the Elf actually delivers on this! I’m dead inside and I still felt warm and fuzzy for Bunny.
