What I liked
Robert Gardner is a master of his craft. Death Unit is superbly written and beautifully layered. In it, Robert DiTillio is good and G Smokey Campbell is excellent! Christian Martin seems wise in directing this piece simply. He lets it be and does not try to do too much because with a first rate script and a polished cast it doesn’t need much.
Rodney Nugent is also a great writer and tells the story of the women in Lost Voices beautifully. Mona Lee Wylde is great, but stumbled a bit – at times she made graceful mistakes. Bazma Jejem is good, but her performance was one note for the most part. Jen McAlister is mesmerizing. Courtney Dominique Comer is phenomenal! Freida de Lacker skillfully directed the one act.
What I didn't like
I wish a few more moments in Death Unit would have been give the space to breathe.
Rodney Nugent is heavy handed with his message and the ending is a too easy for my taste.
My overall impression
A must see! One of the best Hollywood Fringe Festival shows I have ever had the privilege of enjoying!
