What I liked

I was engaged by the painful plight of the narrator. It was sad to hear the different voices in her head and the reason she would injure herself.

And the lone male actor, Edward Alvarado, who played every guy in the narrator’s life was a damn scene stealer. He’s hilarious to watch because you can tell he’s having such a blast.

What I didn't like

I feel like the title is just a marketing tool to round up an audience. The first part of it, anyway, has nothing to do with the narrator’s story. So at first, I felt deceived.

But more importantly, I don’t think this play needs a disingenuous title to put patrons in seats. It’s a compelling, heartfelt story that can be told straight on from the beginning. I feel like the title reflects the insecurity of the play’s narrator – if that’s what you were shooting for, then bingo! But I don’t think it’s needed.

Either that or include the crack part :)

My overall impression

Definitely entertaining. Plenty of funny moments mixed in with some relatable cringeworthy awkward coming of age moments. And something should be said for the excellent taste in music cues.
