What I liked

Choreography was very powerful. Loved the music.

What I didn't like

I think there could have been a stronger symbol for the water instead of the water bottle- perhaps without the label would have helped . ..a glass of water or a pitcher? And why isn’t she able to drink the first time? Does she shake? Does she drop the glass? I think having that stronger will make her drinking at the end even more powerful.

My overall impression

An incredible piece of art from actress/vocalist/songwriter Em Hoggett. “What I Want to Say to You “ features Em’s haunting songs from her upcoming LP with choreography chronicling the emotional and psychological pain after sexual assault. The song about thinking things will never get better also resonates for those who struggle with depression: the pain is so deep and seemingly incurable that, like Robin Williams, Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, you do the only thing you think will stop it. Thank you for bravely sharing your experience through your art, Em, and showing strength. I know your music and your stage work willl help others.
