What I liked

I enjoyed the writing, the dedication, and commitment of each of the actors. The focus and the totality of the intensity can be attributed to the direction of this incredibly ambitious idea. I truly appreciate immersive theater that is genuinely immersive: for that 75 minutes of hustling around Unreal City, I was in another reality.

What I didn't like

I wish there was a way for those who buy a ticket to the show to know that the more they lose themselves in this reality, the more they’ll get out of it. But that’s like saying, “hey, have more courage and you’ll have more fun.” And to ask anyone to have more courage in 2018 is weird (or what this time in history demands… just my interesting POV). haha!

I got no issue with the show. In this type of theatrical performance, where the audience is as responsible for what they get out of it as the actors…? That’s on us.

My overall impression

This has been the only show I’ve chosen to see multiple times at the 2018 Fringe Festival. And if my schedule permitted, I’d see it even more. Immersive theater is a tricky proposition but in the hands of these great artists, you are immersed as deeply in a different reality as you choose to be. Even if, as a participant, you want to keep a comfortable distance, it’s one of the best experiences at the Fringe this year. If you choose to lose yourself and play along 1000%, then this is the type of piece that can make you look at the reality you choose to live and see how invested you are in your own life.
