This, you could tell, was a Herculean undertaking. The biggest problem was our show was plagued with problems. I won't say it didn't seem rehearsed, but the whole thing felt like they only ran it once. I just felt like, for the amount of hype behind this show and the ticket price, I felt cheated. I kind of expected somewhat of a full story but ended up leaving more confused and frustrated then when I began. From the esoteric and unnecessary surveys, to the unintelligible, high-fallutin banter of the cast, to the tech that didn't work and the scenes that relied on it failing as a result, to almost being hit by a car as we were told to jaywalk by the leader of our group, this whole thing was very poorly executed. This show needed a bet... full review

I have SO many feelings about this, and that alone is a positive thing, even if some of the thoughts and feelings are constructive. I want to start out by saying that my Unreal City experience ended with a twenty minute conversation on a street corner with a bunch of strangers (all debriefing about our various experiences) followed by a great chat at the taco truck with another group of folks who'd done a later showing. The fact that a big group of strangers all felt compelled to talk about our experience should be considered a massive victory. PRO TIP: If you're working on a fringe show, go to this show, hang out and chat after, and say the magic words: what show are you working on. ...this is a DREAM setup, especially if you're no... full review

Unreal City is an ambitious show that involves audience interaction, multiple locations, and a lot of walking. (How often do you get to see theatre while you exercise?!) I've never experienced immersive theatre and was afraid it wouldn't be my thing, but I enjoyed Unreal City so much that I attended three test audience runs and will be going back to see it again. Unreal City is like nothing you've ever seen, and you'll want to see it multiple times so you can experience all the different scenarios the amazing cast has in store for you. I can't even begin to imagine how this massive undertaking came together, but kudos to everyone involved for making it happen. : )... full review

The large cast who never break character, and true choices that lead to very different experiences make this an extremely effective immersive experience... full review

Floored. All the endless hours of work that were poured into this production paid off! Every track was different and I've heard so many wonderful things from the other said tracks, but for me: I would follow Lyle into the dark. His understanding of his words was flawless. Cyanne was more than captivating. She touched my soul. Kevin and Damon were so damn good aaaand their fight choreo was so believable I was actually worried a couple times. Carl was perfectly heartbreaking. The text was perfectly placed and split up. 2cents killed it. ... full review

I loved it and want to do it again! It was a wonderful experience. Physically I had some issues with keeping up with the pace. Very well executed and one of the best experiences I've ever had in a theater production. I spoke with one of the creators afterwards; she advised that there are over 20 different scenarios. Just go...it's enthralling. ... full review

Stunningly ambitious, this inventive immersive piece features a surprising amount of interaction with a large number of characters as the play unfolds. Unfortunately, convoluted language and story undermine an enthusiastic cast and makes it nearly impossible to care about anyone by the end.... full review

Easily the most ambitious Fringe project I've ever seen. This company took on a monumental task and took a monumental risk, and for me, it absolutely paid off. The show is not completely free of problems (and I'm glad I waited to give them a week of performing before I attended), but the strengths far outweigh any weaknesses. HIGHLY recommended.... full review
