Set to the music of Saint-Saens “Carnival of the Animals”, this multimedia piece will explore the life-biology of animals and humans as animals. From a telescope view in outer space looking down at a tiny marble Earth, to the very core of life under a microscope, this piece will explore the ways that humans are different and the same as our animal counterparts, all while leaving much of the mysteries of life to be pondered.
This piece will include live music performance, theater/movement, and computer-generated visuals to create a 360 degree journey through the animal kingdom. We’ll dive deep into biology, human-animal connections, and spirit life with Saint-Saens’ music as our centerpiece, our tree of life.
Interludes will be monologues and dialogues and movement placed within musical movements to help weave together a larger narrative. Visuals and lighting will accompany most of the piece.
