What I liked

Some of my favorite bits were the most simple of mime parts. The stuff James does with the balloon and briefcase… classic mime right there, but no less mesmerizing to watch. The command he has of his body is, to repeat the word, mesmerizing. And then there’s the stuff that’s more of a break from traditional mime, especially with a malicious narrator. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the bits where James and the narrator interact made me giggle fitfully. Then again, I have a pretty twisted sense of humor. Also, the way it ended made me feel some warm fuzzies.

What I didn't like

I went to preview, so it’s likely fair to say that this was the case moreso than usual, but the flow between “scenes” was a bit choppy. Sometimes it would go right from bit to bit to bit, buddabing baddaboom, other times we’d be sitting in the darkness. At the halfway point, I was worried the show was over because it took a while between transitions. Again though, this was preview and rife with technical difficulties which I am confident will be ironed out.

My overall impression

All and all, a fun half hour where you can marvel at a man so in control of his actions and also guffaw at some surprisingly subversive humor.
