What I liked

Angela Beevers (performing 2nd) delivers a heartbreaking and funny (yes, funny) show about her dead mother, the psychic bellydancer. Her various characters – particularly the kind of terrible doctors are well-defined and hilarious. Her amateur puppetry is a delight.
Alyssa Virker is stunning. Her movement and dance are some of the most delicious eye-candy I’ve tasted this Fringe (or in theatre, ever). I LOVED her concept. The utter brilliance of this piece astounded me. She takes on four feminine archetypes in stunning detail, the vocal and physical commitment is jaw-dropping and the bold political statement she makes deserves a standing ovation.

What I didn't like

I felt a bit like the dead mother was being mocked a bit mercilessly for daring to be sexy over 60, which I found a bit difficult to swallow, but I guess it’s one of those things. We can make fun of our own family members, and sometimes maybe we need to – and it’s part of the grieving process. While it wasn’t my favorite aspect of the evening, I was still wildly entertained by these two amazing women.

My overall impression

Angela Beevers and Alyssa Virker deliver two fantastic, fast-paced solo shows.
