In the Valley of the Shadow is a trifecta of craft, heart, and talent. Katherine Cortez comments upon injustice and horror by creating something beautiful from it's ashes. Fully embodied characters, masterfully brought to life by the cast elevate the work beyond the page into a living phoenix that testifies, not only for 49 souls, but for their families, lovers, and our human community. ... full review

Unfortunate overall, unfunny, inappropriate and this story and the legacy of those lost at Pulse deserves much better. Too soon to have this derivative and brainless a show as a completely failed and botched homage. ... full review

What a powerful piece of theater. For 75 minutes I sat riveted by an impressive production. Fantastic ensemble acting. The playwright has done a masterful job taking a difficult and heartbreaking topic and treating it with intellect, humanity, and depth. And the direction was spot-on. ... full review

This was a fully developed work of art and commentary. One finds it funny, moving, thought-provoking, human. I'd sum it up by calling it... important. See this if you can. Rogue Machine has mined yet another piece of Fringe gold. Note: I did indeed see this show. I'm not "certified" because I bought my ticket via Rogue Machine Theater.... full review

I don't know how to fix this and wouldn't presume to tell this excellent director and playwright how to do it. However, I think if you could, it would make a very good play into a shatteringly great one.... full review

I was so moved, almost from the beginning, by the genuineness of the characters from all "perspectives" of this important issue, each presented without judgment of any sort. We of course knew from the beginning what the chaos and emotionality on stage were due to, but the subtlety of the actual shooting not being presented till 3/4's into the play when we by now were deeply connected to the characters was an ingenuous device. Bravo to all concerned!... full review

There were layers upon layers of meaning in this beautiful piece and the acting was uniformly wonderful...which was particularly remarkable since a number of the actors were playing two different characters with specificity and deep emotional complexity.... full review
