Between the costumes and her performances, Ava completely disappears into her characters. I felt like I was watching five different people.
What I didn't like
A little bit of momentum is lost during the lengthy costume changes, but I’m sure that will smooth out as the show progresses. And unrelated to the show, but they are not joking about the lack of street parking in the area. If driving, either be prepared to pay at their lot, or allow way more time than you think you’ll need to find street parking (I literally had to run to make it to the theatre on time).
My overall impression
A funny, charming solo show featuring fantastic performances by Ava Bogle. Topical without being heavy-handed, the Pleasure Project is an entertaining satire that makes great use of integrating multimedia elements.
