My overall impression
FULL DISCLOSURE OH MY GOD. I know people in the production. (That’s right, you heard me. I know production people. Now get this water out of here. I said CHILLED not COLD. Cretin.)
Trump in Space is super fun. The cast keeps things moving and cram the funny in at every turn. The music is great and the staging allows for all sorts of nuanced bits. It’s a well oiled machine that sticks to the premise. And though the final reveal seemed a bit out of nowhere (SPOILER ALERT! There’s a final reveal) I later realized it kind of fits perfectly in the “why not” department, a highlighted example of how we’ve all had to deal with the purposefully chaotic.
If none of that moves you, go see this one for the joke count. Gillian Bellinger loaded this thing with jokes, all kinds of jokes. And the cast knows how to deliver. It’s a pretty great combination.
