ELECTRICITY is a new comedy / drama that explores the journey of two gay men who hook up in a motel room after their tenth high school reunion in a small town in Ohio. Gary is so closeted that he hides behind an invented a wife, and Brad is so reckless that he kills his pain with sex, drugs and alcohol because he can’t see far enough into the future to believe he has one. Despite their differences, they have a connection that they can’t ignore which draws them back to that same hotel room, and to each other, for every successive reunion. The story chronicles their journey through the immense changes that happened for the LGBT community between 1983 and 2013, from a world where silence equaled death, to one where equality might just be a reality if they can only believe that they deserve it. Electricity is a gay story that is surprisingly relatable to anyone who has struggled with relationships. There is brief nudity.

“This is a wonderful play, so brilliantly written and performed, I really couldn’t stop smiling through the entire thing, except when I was weeping.”…Samantha Simmonds-Ronceros, NoHo Arts District Review

“Regional theaters should do their audiences the favor of introducing Electricity to America at large. In the meantime, Angelinos can count themselves lucky to be the first in the country to experience the electricity of Terry Ray’s single-set, two-actor gem.”…Steven Stanley, Stage Scene LA

“I found this show on Goldstar, and I thought maybe I was being catfished by all the positive reviews. But no, it really is that good.”…Goldstar review
