What I liked

The script. This is no doubt the most textually rich show you’re bound to see at Fringe. There are layers upon layers, and it’s probably worth seeing this show more than once to try and gather up all the details, ideas, quips, and characters the writer offers the audience, all in a manner of real respect for our intelligence.

What I didn't like

Fringe can be tough on shows that so clearly want to stretch their arms and yell “Give me budget!” Nicaea still shines within its limitations, but its ambitions do sometimes get stifled.

My overall impression

Nicaea works small wonders. The plot and characters and concepts build upon one another, slowly and methodically, until you’re left with the impression of having eaten a fulfilling, delicious meal without completely comprehending how or when it was served. I highly recommend! Make sure to catch this sophisticated, thoughtful gem!
