Another step up the ladder to respectability, not always used appropriately for best effect.
What I didn't like
Chaos, barely controlled, with NO explanation of how the winners were selected.
My overall impression
Like a lot of the 280 events that preceded it during the 7th Fringe Season, The Sunday Night Fringe Awards Show was an IMITATION of Life—-in The Big Time! Its most innovative feature was the Two-Word restriction on speeches, which frequently brought down the house—-Tonys and Oscars, PLEASE take note! Its Fringe-sparse production seemed appropriate, but why didn’t they take advantage of the two giant TV screens to display lists—-or, better, photos—-of the nominees, often unknown even to each other? And why was there NO explanation of HOW the voting is conducted? Now I’m suspicious! I left midway, though.
