This is a play about a young girl, Etta Jenks, who comes to LA to be a movie star. But she does not understand the commitment and passion one must have to pursue such a dream.
Desperate for money in order to make a video of herself doing a monologue or scene which she can send to casting directors and producers, she meets with Ben. He is a producer.
During their first meeting, he reveals that he produces “skin flicks”.
She has talent and a taste for sex and quickly descends into the world of porn, becoming a star and a business woman.
Although it was written in the 80’s I think it is still very relevant and presents an intriguing exploration of dreams, reality and what it means to “make it”.
The production will require 9 actors and I plan to direct it myself.
