I fell in love with 4 Clowns last year at the Hollywood Fringe 2010, so naturally I was elated to hear this talented group was working on a new production. 4 Clowns Romeo and Juliet is just as (if not, even more) hilarious, grotesque, and magical. You are guaranteed to chuckle, cheer, swoon, and squirm with this wonderfully smart and committed cast. This is clowning at it's finest and will leave you rolling out of the theatre laughing. This show delivers on all levels: a clever concept, cleanly executed by talented and adept performers. I rate this show at five stars in every category. I had a wonderful time and laughed continuously from the moment the four incredibly talented clowns made their first appearance until the all too soon ending. The show is well paced with excellent direction by Jeremy Aluma and is scored by a marvelously talented musician who perfectly compliments the delicious madness on stage. I saw the 2011 Fringe preview of Four Clowns: Romeo & Juliet on June 11th and it is outstanding!! I was impressed by the creativity, originality, movement, comedy, and humanity of the original Four Clowns from Hollywood Fringe 2010 and now Aluma is at it again with, I believe, an even stronger incarnation. The story of Romeo & Juliet is an amazing arena of emotion for these bold characters to play, parody, and perform with zero inhibitions. The kind of theatre you wish happened more in Hollywood.... full review
