What I liked
This musical had everything I hope for in this type of parody; a nerd turned monster that rips your heart out with his struggle; a mayor and a mother singing a duet with herself; a blind girl with plenty of “sight” gags and an unbelievable powerhouse of a voice; a two man ensemble in street wear, a lynch mob, and dresses; and a stage-manager with an attitude that is a highlight of every scene change. go, Go, GO!
What I didn't like
There seemed to be some mics that were a little hot and cut in and out. While slightly distracting, I really had to think on what I “didn’t like” for a while, because the whole evening was incredible.
My overall impression
I knew nothing about this movie/musical before tonight. And yet, the whole way home I could not stop quoting and singing through all of my favorite parts. Every single member of this cast, crew, orchestra, and team as a whole have created something truly memorable and I cannot wait to see it again! A definite “must see”!!
