Near the end, ‘Jen’ had a line where she said we use love to ‘fill up our bodies’ or something. I thought this was a hilarious reference to her husband who she left named Phillip. ‘Phillip’ = ‘Fill up’. The failure of the writer to see this simple pun, shows how little nuance there was in War Stories.
What I didn't like
The acting was shallow, the script was also shallow. The writer is delusional about love, and what a therapist’s job is. It lacked depth and seemed to actively avoid anything that wasn’t a cliche. Astonishingly bad script.
My overall impression
I could not believe how lame this show was. I don’t use the term lame lightly, the acting was just saying words to the fourth wall and lacked all emotion. The script could have been written by a fifteen year old. If you want to go watch something about love and relationships, go watch anything else. This fails to offer anything of substance.
