Hollywood and Broadway: Gloria and Tallulah Talk! is based on the real life account of Tallulah Bankhead and Gloria Swanson receiving the New York Page One Award for their career in entertainment, on April 13 1951. Combining fact and fiction and keeping the flair of Tallulah and Gloria’s personalities in mind, this play is based on a theory of what might have occurred behind closed doors that night at the awards ceremony. In addition, with a “very important cameo” from Aileen Pringle, a snooping butler and a overeager reception clerk, mayhem and lunacy ensue as both actresses compete to be the Diva of the evening.
