My overall impression

this is the album that saved my life. it was 2003 and I had just been activated to go to Iraq war. 2004 came around and I returned home and the only thing that could save my mental capacity at the time was music and this album of Green Day was one of them to save me as well as the killers, Sevendust, and many other rock albums. to see the show something that I have been attempting to do since the Broadway days just like another rock musical that changed the world I saw it first with a bunch of semi professional performers and I’m glad I did because it’s something about seeing an amazing musical with semi professionals who do it for the love of the art and not just money. this is a show with heart this is a show with a bunch of talented performers and its a show not to be missed at the Fringe Festival. although is not a perfect show the ensemble is full of energy and the vocals are perfect. the imperfections live with in the book of course and that has nothing to do with the ensemble. that has to do with the writer and his attempt to just let the music of Green Day be the dialogue for the show which to me could have used more words to use more meaning of what was happening the plot is a little unclear because there isn’t dialogue that pushes it along and if there is a word in the song that doesn’t make sense in the specific scene, you can get lost. but that is nothing against the performers in this show for the fringe they were brilliant they were young they were hot. another weakness maybe the staging or the direction. the director had a bunch of people in the ensemble and didn’t quite know what to do with them all so some of the blocking appeared clumsy. it’s the choreographers mission to make sure that the spacing is a hundred percent correct at all times but again this is one of the best shows I’ve seen so far at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2015 so it’s definitely worth seeing.
