My overall impression
What a performance! I was very impressed. Darin truly did a masterful job of writing and starring in this one man show. I had not read any reviews or descriptions about the play, other than that he played many different characters with original monologues along with a few classic Shakespeare monologues. I was better for not knowing too much about it before attending, because towards the end, when I realized who the main character actually was, everything fell into place. I got goosebumps many times throughout. He manages to weave in some great commentary about the state of theatre. The Player King is a fantastic show for a theatre enthusiast, or anyone who really appreciates complex characters and the many levels of a fine actor.
