My overall impression
i really enjoyed Cookie And The Monster, and as someone who has created many solo shows, I loved seeing the world come alive around Cookie. The show has a rhythm of it’s own and it takes a dark turn, but the turn, for me, as a 14 year old who was hospitalized due to some of the chaos that Cookie goes through is so relatable. I felt for cookie and admired her strength, as some of my monsters still keep me up at night. At one point in time, I experienced a moment that seemed very graphic novel-esque. I know the exact staging and lighting, but I can’t recall the exact point, but for me, this could easily be transformed into a graphic novel. Loved the side characters… loved the monsters… and yes, rooting for Cookie, bj’s and monsters and all.
