It doesn’t matter how old you are, what sex you are, what your sexual orientation is: every one of us has been fascinated by celebrity.

STARF*CKING starts with a pop concept—celebrity obsession—then digs deep, offering an alternately bleak, poignant, and humorous trip through the minds and bedrooms of seven inter-related, starf*cking Angelenos, whose obsessions range from Marlene Dietrich, to Houston the porn star, to Eminem, to various 80s sci-fi vixens, to Elizabeth Taylor from Butterfield 8. Celebrity is the key into each one’s psyche: the perfect entry point to understand his or her humanity, desires, sexuality, regrets, loneliness. STARF*CKING cracks the anonymity of this sprawling metropolis open for an hour, marrying sharply imagined characters with an overriding spirit of humanity and surprise, as each character’s story comes with a twist.
