This is definitely my favorite Fringe show by far. There are three reasons to see this show:
1. Non-stop laughter. Seriously. You will be highly entertained. Actually I think the only downside is I may have missed a few moments because the audience was laughing so hard.
2. If you’ve ever sat through a tedious, self-indulgent one-man show, you will absolutely relate to this. Except it’s not tedious or self-indulgent. The 7th Annual One-Man Show World Championships is an excellent parody of every stereotype of artists who choose to perform one-man shows, from the misunderstood actor overcoming his addiction to the misunderstood actor overcoming his horrible relationship with his parents to the misunderstood actor who can’t seem to maintain a loving relationship as an adult. Yeah, you know the type.
3. This is something new. I’ve never seen a parody of one-man shows. Such an original, exceptional concept in a world where nothing is original anymore. Also, this is an extremely well-written piece with some of the finest actors in town. Each character was incredibly specific and well-developed. If it’s extended, I’d see it again.
