I loved SNACK. Megan Dolan's one-woman show was a riotous and well-paced emotional roller coaster. Showcasing a "Mom on the Edge" and reflecting on her childhood traumas and how they shaped the good and the bad of her own motherly tactics, Dolan takes you on a 70s/80s retro adventure through sibling rivalry, childhood wonder and heartbreak, and finding one's way as a kid amidst family chaos where her parents were trying to find their own path and meaning in life, often at the expense of their children. The role of food is the undercurrent and glue that sticks to all her childhood stories, making it no wonder that her own children's demand for snacks strikes a ringing and resonant chord in Dolan's life. Probably the best thing about S... full review

Loved it! You feel immediately that you're in the hands of a capable actress and in for a wild ride through a childhood rendered with the kind of crystal clarity that the most painful parts of growing up impart. Poignant and hilarious, this show is so much fun!... full review

Brilliantly written, expertly performed, and hilarious!! If that's not enough, anyone who has ever eaten emotionally will relate. However, I think ANYONE would truly enjoy this remarkable presentation.... full review

Hilarious, poignant, moving, disturbing, inspirational - as was predicted in Director Chris Game's welcome, I found myself laughing and crying simultaneously. As a mother, daughter, sister, step-mother - I identified with, riled against, and loved each of the folks who people her stories. Her rendition of her tale unfurled in a fast paced but never rushed delivery that is genuine and heartfelt and filled with humor and love alongside the pain. You will leave moved and thankful for the hour spent with Megan Dolan and her story.... full review

SNACK ATTACK! Megan Dolan has written a wonderful tight script that goes from parental breakdown to the year her parents broke down and back again. I loved the images, tastes, micro moments that her 8 year old self found important enough to remember forever. Wonderfully written. A definite go see.... full review

Such a well-written piece by a very engaging and soulful performer. It sounds twisted to say, but I thoroughly enjoyed the stroll through Megan's messed up childhood. I also enjoyed the Lorna Doones. Thanks for all of it!... full review

I LOVED this solo show! Refreshing, funny, well written and delightfully told by Megan Dolan whose acting talents, candor, perspective and wit serve her well as she travels between her struggles with motherhood in the present and her family life as an 8 year old girl trying to make sense of her changing world. I cared for all the characters and was totally engaged. I highly, highly recommend Snack!!... full review

I have only two questions after seeing Megan Dolan Wingate in her one woman show, "Snack": Why the heck aren't I paying top dollar for this on Broadway? And why did it have to end? Clearly a brilliant collaboration between Megan and director Chris Game, the writing and acting are so effortless, witty and moving. I would rank this as one of the best shows I've seen in ages. SNACK is a signature show for the Hollywood Fringe Festival. And Megan should be brought back often. Hopefully she puts SNACK up again so more people get a chance to see it. SNACK is simply f-ing great... and everything Los Angeles theatre should be about!... full review

At her worst, Megan Dolan is better than most people's best. She is a gifted writer and performer, who can make the audience laugh through the tears... She is authentic and uninhibited. She weaves magic and the audience left high. Thank you for producing such quality work at the Fringe! ... full review
