If you want to an evening with a lovely, charismatic performer then this is the show. Caught myself lol-ing for reals at the most bizarre times! Truly enjoyed myself and it was a journey worth taking!... full review

I loved this show! I hope it gets picked up for a longer run somewhere as it's simply delightful. Michelle Lema (Bean, herself) is a great writer and performer and Ashley Teague's direction was fabulous. If you hear tell of this show coming back, book your tickets - you'll have no regrets. ... full review

Though I missed her performance at Fringe, I saw Michelle's "(Refried) Bean" (aka Bean REDUX) at another solo show festival earlier in the year - and was blown away. Michelle takes a fresh approach to the well-traveled road of "one-human show about relationships", masterfully juggling over a dozen vivid & distinct characters, and not losing the audience even for a moment. Where many one-human shows tend to feel a little too self-aware and/or conversational for my taste, "Bean" is a polished performance of a tight script that should be looked to as a model for all one-human shows. What a Blast! One-Person shows can go a lot of different ways. Often, I find myself drifting if there isn't something locking me in or the story telling doesn't build to a point. Not the case with (refried) Bean. I'm not sure if it was written in or if Dir. Ashley Teague made it happen, but there was wonderful audience participation that kept me totally engaged. And it's really hard not to love writer/actor Michelle Lema (The Bean). We've all felt the ups and downs of finding love and taking the trip with someone so likable is a great way to run the gamut of emotions & experiences that I (personally) don't usually like to tread. I would LOVE to see it again but sadly, there was only one performance!! Please give this actress a longer run... full review
