I have never been to a one man show before, and I did not know what to expect. This show was exciting from beginning to end. I've never been to New York, but Frank's representation of people from all walks of life, felt familiar and understandable. "Stabilized Not Controlled" and never a dull moment!... full review

Rarely do I get to see a show where I leave the theater gasping with laughter while thinking, "damn that is one talented performer!" But such is the case with Frank Blocker and his one man show of "Stabilized not Controlled." The play itself is brilliant, using the battle of tenants versus landlord as a metaphor for addiction and twelve stepping. But Blocker then goes one step further, by playing ALL the characters in his tale, effectively bringing to vibrant detailed life enough New York personalities to fill a five story building. This is an incredible tour de force by any performer/writer and Frank Blocker delivers on every level. Highly recommended. See it now before Blocker gets scooped up by Hollywood!... full review

Frank Blocker is a tour de force as a solo performer. His writing skills are equally as impressive. He creates an entire world of thoroughly entertaining characters. He does this not only through extraordinary vocal work but through his physical and movement skills. Even though he weaves his way through so many characters jumping from one to another, each one is so clearly delineated and defined that you are never confused as to who is who and it is easy to follow and be engrossed in the story. A must-see.... full review

You're probably wondering the same thing I was....A one man show for 70 minutes? How am I going to be able to handle this? This guy pulls it off. He told a great story, had some fun characters, kept the process moving and above all, he was entertaining. I really admired his ability to do it. Congrats my man. Worth seeing if you have the chance. ... full review

To be sure, Frank Blocker's deft embodiment of his play's many, many memorable characters is a jaw-dropping achievement. Vocally and physically, each character is unique, tenderly but unsparingly observed from life. But what makes the work really satisfying is that, within minutes, the actor's coup ceases to be the focus of attention. This play is not a gimmick; it is, like all good theater, a fully compelling story. I'm glad I took the opportunity to see this warmly human, yet wickedly funny play!... full review

Awesome writing and an amazing performance by Frank Blocker. There are very few actors out there who would dare to write and tackle a piece of material like this, but this guy performs it flawlessly. The different characters Blocker has created help the audience to create an instant bond with the piece and by the end you'll have laughed, cried and everything else in between! A really strong story that you'll be glad you took the time to hear!... full review

STABILIZED is about a rent-stabilized apartment building in NYC. The building in inhabited by 17 very different, crazy characters all played brilliantly by Frank Blocker. Blocker creates an entire universe of characters that are entertaining and flavorful. He gets the accents right, the writing is great, and I laughed my ass off! The characters are so well done that you never are confused as to whom he's doing now. He has the energy of a nuclear reactor, switching between characters quickly and smoothly. STABILIZED is funny, witty, and definitely worth seeing. Go, GO!... full review
