My overall impression
Peppur’s comedic writing has a rhythm to it, a quirky verbal version of ping pong. Unfortunately for me, the actor’s delivery just didn’t match the pacing on the opening night performance that I caught. Maybe, it was a director’s choice. But overall, it came off as flat.
I felt that what was on the page never translated to the stage. Based on the strength of the writing, it should have been much better.
