This abridged production of the fun, new musical "The Time Machine" is full of energy, catchy songs, and creative staging. I fed off the energy and commitment of the strong cast, and their sense of fun was contagious. While the show certainly had the rough edges of a workshop presentation, the music carried the night and the simplistic but resourceful staging helped make it a very enjoyable piece.... full review

I was pleasantly surprised. I admit I was initially skeptical of the Time Machine being presented as a musical. Very very skeptical. But it turns out it was quite pleasant and fun. From the beginning, the vocal talents of the cast and the catchiness of the music had my curiosity piqued. I read The Time Machine eons ago so I can't say whether this adaptation did it justice but I didn't notice any glaringly obvious problems. I can say that it did make me want to read the book again, as well as watch the movie again. The 1960 version, not the 2002 one. Aw heck, maybe I'll watch both again. I thought the cast was delightful in their respective roles and seemed quite passionate when belting out their songs and dancing around the st... full review

Only one problem with The Time Machine Musical...I wanted to see more! Last night, I was treated to most of the wonderful music of this play, but due to the abridged version, the book and a handful of songs were left to our imagination. Fortunately cast and director brought so much to the stage that I was delighted to fill in the rest! Can't wait to see a fully unabridged rendering of this fantastic musical filled with haunting, as well as, riotous songs!!!... full review

Well done for transforming such dense matter into a musical. It absolutely worked ! Brilliant timing in performance, good voices, balanced with great musicians (especially the keyborder) and rounded up with intriguing details using a turned around chair as time machine! Loved it.... full review

Quite an ambitious project for a Fringe show. Huge cast, live four piece band, and lots of story and songs in under an hour. Very well staged by Joshua Farden to have maximum impact with mimimal set and props, etc. ... full review

I went to see this play to support my son, Jeremy Borum, who played the keyboard. I had no idea what to expect and was happily surprised by it. It was delightful! The props were minimal but perfectly adequate to get the message across (great use a chair for a time machine!). I also thought the song writing quite good and the actors/singers did the songs and the story justice. I was impressed by the volunteer talent and would see these people act again. I enjoyed my evening very much. This play made me want to see more of these types of productions.... full review

I loved how this ambitious story was told with no props--just chairs, talent and commitment by the cast to lock into future and past worlds. It drew me and my friends in--and we stayed there with them. Steve Altman was brilliant as an actor and singer and the music was catchy and conveyed the mood at all times.... full review
