My overall impression
An enjoyable, atmospheric hour in the theatre.
I’ve been told i am “plot addicted”, so this is not really my thing. LEMONBOOTS is primarily a dance piece with no concrete plot that i could discern, but there was lovely imagery and some sections (about isolation and "other"ness – i think) worked very well. Their use of technology was excellent, especially for Fringe. There is some limited audience participation, performers moving through the rows, etc.
But getting everyone onstage to “dance” at the end feels forced and unearned. (imean, it’s great and powerfully cathartic in HAIR – but even there they don’t make you do it, you just want to.)
There are a lot of talented young performers in this, and it looks like it was a great experience for them to create and perform this.
