Disrupting Social Norms w/ Miss Banister's Class

Drama · destiny surrenders productions, llc · Ages 14+ · 90 mins · United States of America

world premiere

Set in Oxfordshire, England, in October 2019, Ms. Banister’s World History Class is comprised of foreign exchange students from Italy, Puerto Rico, Nigeria, Germany, China, Mexico, France, Syria, and the US.  The students start with conversations about Black History Month in the UK (during October) and the US (in February).  Before long, they collectively embark on an impassioned discussion about social justice, human rights, racial inequality, cultural differences, etc.  Ultimately, they learned that it is easy to find differences among ourselves, and we don’t have to look too hard.  The more difficult yet imperative thing to do is recognize and honor what unites us all as humans while we continue to appreciate and celebrate all the things that make us unique.
