Set in 1992, in Freetown, Sierra Leone; “Remember 92” introduces us to a small family living in Willberforce; a military barracks during the civil war known for Blood Diamonds in Sierra Leone. Acy, the mother of two young boys, Medo and Ibrahim, faces the daunting task of keeping her hair salon open during wartime as her only means of income, while also attempting to preserve the innocence of her children who are becoming all too aware of the rebels presence. Yema, Acy’s younger sister is a witty young woman who has aspirations of one day opening her own bakery in Freetown. With the absence of her husband Jonima, a Soldier fighting the (RUF) Revolutionary United Front; and no communication for months, Acy is forced to lean on her neighbors, The Santiguis, for support. A Story filled with laughs, music, heartbreak and resilience in the lives of ordinary people living during a conflict.
