This play is an absolute delight! It effortlessly combines entertainment and uniqueness. Being a Disney enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed the clever references that seamlessly wove into each line, adding an imaginative touch to the scenes. The concept of using one pair of actors to represent the present couple and another pair to depict their past was pure brilliance, and it was executed with dynamic and lively performances. The dialogues between the couple, entangled in relatable conflicts while ... full review

Valley Of Light

Valley of Light is a sweet and mysterious show that captivated me with its dedicated cast and well-suited music. The story and music style reminded me of Celtic folk music, which I adore, and the exploration of themes added depth to the experience. While it took me a little while to realize that the story was set in a post-apocalyptic time, reading the synopsis clarified everything. Tess Botts deserves special recognition for her beautiful vocals and guitar playing on stage. However, there wer... full review

Japanese sword fighting, elaborate costumes, badass girls wielding lethal weapons, and video animation on a moving screen—what could possibly go wrong? These girls exceeded all my expectations and more. Coming all the way from Japan to perform in front of a foreign audience in LA could be challenging, but they delivered an exquisite, unique, and mesmerizing performance that transported the stage to a whole new dimension. Absolutely phenomenal job!... full review

The Women of Lockerbie by Deborah Brevoort

What a beautiful story, and performance! The Women of Lockerbie tastefully uses a real-life tragedy as a backdrop to tell a fictional, yet a truly human story about loss and how we wish to preserve the lives of our loved ones. I found myself relating to the pain of the main character as a mother who also has a son of a similar age, which was only complemented by the effective acting on display. Likewise, I'm sure that many audiences can find themselves connecting to this story in a similar way. T... full review

Still Life of an Orange and Other Puppet Parables

soo chyun · June 21, 2018 certified reviewer
'Still Life of an Orange' was a truly unique and refreshing experience. It was far beyond most of the other Fringe shows as each story or fable took an abstract approach. Having a puppeteer treat very mundane objects like an orange as a character as well as creating a narrative through this concept, was inventive and fun. Despite the bizarre nature of the performance, the play never felt forced or unengaging. In fact, I'd say the contrary because it was hard to tell what would happen next with a ... full review

Skin Jobs

Brilliant writing. It touches on the subject of controversial issues and the effects it places on the actors involved in it. The portrayal of the two friends' conflict was so real. Skinjob delicately addresses differing viewpoints through both characters while taking the biases of social status in mind. Kerri and Viv are right in ways while also wrong in others too. The writers spared no expense on this 30-minute show through a rich narrative. I enjoyed every second of it. ... full review
