Keeper

Hysterical, brutal, touching, whimisical and laugh out loud funny. Everything being a young person is. Michelle Murphy's Keeper is a masterclass in doing a one person show. Tight focused writing, with powerful acting. ... full review

Lebanese Debutante

Chris Farah is a very talented, engaging, and downright warm and funny performer. She immediately puts you at ease and makes you feel part of her clique. She talks about the ups and downs and struggles of a teenage life as she is caught between the whiteness of Newport Beach, her own cultural heritage, the culture of the 90's, the lost ending of Models INC, as well as her divorcing parents. THe video proof of how teenage dreams can really go sideways might be one of the funnies thing I've see... full review

School for Love

What happens when the musical theater kids you knew in high school are all grown up and are all extraordinarly talented? You realize they were the cool kids all along. These first couple of sentences are not a synopsis of School of Love, it's an unabashed appreciation for the all the performers and smart direction of this very addictive cabaret show. While the story is simple, the choice of crowd pleasing songs based around the theme of young love is inspired. The performances range from subtl... full review

Under the Influence

It's hard when thinking of this show not to just use the adjective fun like twenty times. But yes, it's extremely fun. But also sharp, witty, and a thoughtful meditation of how much we might give up by giving in to relationships and a reality curated and judged by social media standards. Great songs and the usual amazing chemistry of Meghan Allison, Emily Clark,Pam Quinn, Jeff ScottCary, and Lucas ALifano (director). These people build a fun world that I was happy to spend 50 some minutes in... full review

If I'm Good

A very tough but rewarding hike through the curent American divide. A show that starts in a manner that feels like it will be edgy (but in the end good hearted jabs) on our current red and blue metalties. As it proceeds forward it slowly, painfully, but beautifully blossoms into a meditation on the addiction of rage, the need to be righetous, and how these qualities blind and deafen us to others humanity as well as our own. Well worth seeing. ... full review

It’s hard to go into the details of why I love this show without giving things away. I will say that this cast is a tour de force who gently grab you by the throat and drag you through this journey that often makes you forget there is an inherent mystery in this piece. You could listen to these characters talk for another 3 hours ... full review

A wonderfully silly tale inhabited by some of the funniest women (and two guys) in Los Angeles. It takes a fantasy heroic journey and turns it on his head and infusing it with laughs and heart along the way. ... full review
