A nerdy earth scientist named Melvin falls in love with Sarah, a blind librarian. The romance is cut short when Melvin is dumped into a vat of toxic goo; turning him into a mutant with a six pack. Drats! Toxie then goes off on a rampage around town to take down the mayor’s evil toxicity plans and impress Sarah. The Toxic Avenger Musical premiered Off-Broadway in 2009 to mixed reviews, and is now receiving the Hollywood Fringe treatment thanks to Good People Theatre Company. The Toxic Ave... full review

NILBOG: the unauthorized musical parody of Troll 2

benjamin schwartz · June 15, 2016 certified reviewer
Adapting the cult-classic film Troll 2 for the stage is not easy. The structure is a mess, the plot has major holes and non-sequators, the character goals and intentions make no sense and the film is just plain terrible. I mean, that's why it's considered the worst movie ever made, right? 2 Cents Theatre Company has mounted their own musical version of the b-movie, entitled Nilbog: The Unauthorized Musical Parody Of Troll 2, for the Hollywood Fringe Festival. And in case you missed it, that’s “Go... full review

Denial. Anger. Bargaining. Depression. Acceptance. Brett Epstein’s tragicomedy, #WHALEFAIL, deconstructs the Kübler-Ross model of the five stages of grief while tackling the theme of ordinary man vs. corporate America. It also challenges the notion that we, as humans need to have extravagant goals in life. That we must try to change the world. Well, some people just want to fly under the radar. This is a story ab.... see the full review at: https://giaonthemove.com/2016/06/15/gia-hff16-revi... full review

THUG TUNNEL

Somewhere in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic unspecified location, a tunnel deep inside the earth is home to a small community of scavengers. Also as a guy who talks to a rat. This is the world that Thug Tunnel, Robot Teammate And The Accidental Party’s newest musical, takes place. Oh yes, it’s a musical. And a very good one. The score, by Sam Johnides, borrows from a multitude of genres including new wave, indie and operatic rock. Johnides likes to fall back on his deep, haunting minor chord pr... full review

All The Best Killers Are Librarians

An assassin comedy with charming, dry, dark humor and extremely talented actors. Every one of them, serious comedic chops. Really, that's no surprise, considering the previous work that I've seen most of, if not all, these actors in. Each character has a very unique, quirky personality is fully flushed out and advances the story forward with nearly every line. The fight sequences are fun, but for me, there's just a couple too many. The knife throws were awesome the first three times for me... I j... full review

A Whole NEWD World-Cherry Tales at The Knock Shop

I met the talented Cherry Poppins ladies last year for their show, "The Knock Shop." It was a good show, real good. But nothing like what they've done here. Simply put, this show is a GREAT time. No matter where I looked at what point of the show, there was always something incredible to watch. A super tight band, talented dancers, hilarious numbers and a HUGE cast. Oh my God. The opening number... they fill up the whole room. You're not going to this show for a good plot... but you are going for... full review
