Meet Me In Mizzery

Lindsey has a great talent for impersonating so many different people and characters from back home in Missouri! Her best gift is her her natural ability to be funny just while telling stories, and she saved it for last!... full review

REVENGE OF THE ROOTBEER: The Sequel To Night Of The Rootbeer

I came for the worst show at Fringe. I expected to wish everyone on stage be struck dead. False advertising. Disappointed that it didn't feel as asanine as last year, but then again, those brain cells may just be dead.... full review

Olivia Wilde Does Not Survive the Apocalypse

Just plain fun! The humor is especially great for people who have lived in LA too long. The cast is ticghtly-knit, and it shows in their performances, and there's jokes for every sensibility--raunchy, punny, dry, sarcastic, everyone. And all of it fits in a well-built sci-fi world. ... full review

A Time Traveler's Guide to the Present

brett moore · June 17, 2019 certified reviewer
This is one of the most inventive and exceptional solo shows I've seen at Fringe, regardless of year. The story is compelling, and Harvey's mastery of body language and voice allows him to play at least a dozen different roles, and he masterfully complements his story with his guitar loops without losing the attention of the audience in any one of his shifts. This is one of the most compelling shows I've seen this year, and you need to be RUNNING to the next performance of this show. There should... full review

Saving Cain

A powerful piece that examines what our beliefs can give us... and what it can cost us if we hold on too tight. Aaron Kozak is a regular Fringe writer for a reason, and this is one of his most moving and challenging scripts yet. The cast he assembled is up to the task, most especially Leah Verrill and Lenny Hernandez, who shine particularly bright as the mother and son at the center of the play.... full review

Paper Trails

This was a brilliant and mostly touching trio of plays about identity and how one comes to terms with their own sense of it. The performances are tight and compelling, and the writing excellent. One of the scenes felt not quite in sync with the other two, but was well-performed and directed all the same. Amanda Noriko Newman's moving performance of "Eguchi", brilliantly penned by Isabelle Moreau, is a particularly riveting and heartbreaking standout.... full review

The Circle Table

This is a great interconnected web that reminds me a little of a story like "Love Actually" in the way that so many stories intersect and entwine with one another, particularly as the show ends. Thorough, well-acted, and cleverly staged and choreographed, "The Circle Table" really highlights the ways we communicate and the impact on our relationships in the age of smartphones, Facebook, and Lyft... and even while evaluating that, makes you care so much more about the characters and their stories.... full review

Tattered Capes

brett moore · June 09, 2019 certified reviewer
Tattered Capes is one of the finest shows Greg Crafts has ever written. I've seen a lot of his work, but for sheer personal force, character development and definition, and dialogue, this show is a huge accomplishment. Add in the unbelievable choreography and some of the best stage combat I've seen at literally any level of theatre, and what Greg, Soda Persi, Corey Lynn Howe, and their cast have accomplished is stunning.... full review

blackboxing

brett moore · June 08, 2019 certified reviewer
Blackboxing is both a side-splitting takedown of Fringe and one man shows, and the fulfillment of every stage manager's worst nightmare (and fondest dreams). I left in actual pain from laughing so much and so hard over 45 minutes. You'll want to sing along to a song you've never even heard before. Jim and Matt both deliver brilliance in moment after moment, as well as some unexpected heart.... full review

THE BULLY PROBLEM

This was a delightful show. Fun, well-paced, and impressively choreographed, with a good cast and and a story that clicked nicely and moved at a solid pace. ... full review
