The Dangerous Cures of Dr. B

I saw this show a few nights ago and I still have hauntingly brilliant visuals in my mind. Was it the lighting? Did it all seem like a flickering movie that happened before my eyes? It was indeed very disturbing, which means they succeeded in making me FEEL something. Bravo.... full review

There is so much great Improv in this show. See it for that skill alone as these actors know how to play very well off each other. I loved the inside jokes with our beloved Pam, the Tech Director and House Manager at Studio C. The singing was also delightful and catchy, and I wanted to close out singing Fun World themesong one more time!... full review

UNREAL CITY

I was a few minutes late and pretty soon, it becomes dead clear why things must start on time...but the next group was perfect for me. I found myself hyper vigilant as I traversed through the streets of Hollywood (which are pretty shady on any given night anyway so Kudos to that kooky backdrop!) - this means they succeeded in making me FEEL something! I wasn’t sure who to talk to! Someone who you earlier thought was a bum, 20 min later turns out to be your tour guide! The commitment of all the ac... full review

Could not get up after this ended. I found myself so heavy with I don’t know what afterwards, I could not get up. Maybe because the denial it takes to abide by our system and administration is getting harder for allies like myself to ignore, yet still leaves me light. But having to actually feel the weight of the story of another’s brutal realizations at 5 years old and everyday since left me heavy and unable to move, in ways I’ve not quite heard before (referring specifically to Francesca Gamez’... full review

Sofie is a very talented writer and performer and I am so happy to see sold-out houses for a show about a unique cultural upbringing and story of very non-traditional love. It was bravery in a time people are still getting offended left and right, filled w light and truth. And good rapping!!!!!... full review

Cherise is a very inspiring, talented and creative writer and performer. She reeeeaaaallly expands the canvas of what a solo show can be. She kept herself busy working hard the entire hour for our gluttonous entertainment to understand her heartfelt, painful and hysterical journey. And any show that is bold enough to spray us w water guns after fair warning is a fave of mine.... full review

Kudos to Matthew Robinson. This play was well cast. I enjoyed the use of the Theater for the "storytelling" framework. Loved the costumes and how the character of Mary Seacole was portrayed, meaning to see her conviction to others face to face, but in private, allowing her fears to air out. Also very grateful to have a diverse cast and a new story to add to all of our education.... full review

Fuck Tinder

This was one of the first solo shows I'd been eager to check out. The title was brilliant. There's a great joke in this show about the state of Tinder now, that ends up being what we are treated to. David rapidly exposes all the frustrating, heartbreaking and horrifying incidents, some on repeat, that have happened and are probably still happening to him, as he explains his creative process in the program. And just when I needed a breather as an audience member after a rapid fire 20 minutes, Davi... full review

The Fabulous Fables of Aesop

Absolutely adored this gem of an offering. The ensemble cast gives it 150% and we really should be so lucky. I'd like to see more butts in seats, they so deserve it and gave us everything they had. I found myself at the edge of my own seat, amidst the giggling adults and children. Really well organized as they move from tale to tale, with a "cast" throughline building all the while. I am recommending families come see this together, you will be so glad you did!... full review
