WHAT:

Los Angeles’ Inaugural Reading of The Egg Play, by Candice Benge

Imagine Our Town procreates with No Exit and makes an absurd, violent, and strangely funny baby. That baby is The Egg Play. Three characters, one persistent doorbell, and a memory that refuses to recognize it has long overstayed its welcome. Recently selected for 2012’s Great Plains Theater Conference PlayLab, this play will be Transient Theater’s inaugural production touring the country this summer, July – August 2012.

WHO:

The Egg Play writer/producer Candice Benge; director Cara Phipps; co-producer, Elizabeth Haggard; San Francisco-based cast members Gloria McDonald, Stephen Frothingham and Amelia Van Brunt.

Transient Theater is a new traveling theater cooperative focused on creating empathy through their work with emerging playwrights. Transient Theater will launch their inaugural production this July 2012 and will perform in New York City (as part of the NY International Fringe Festival), Los Angeles, Sacramento, Albuquerque, Bolinas, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Tampa, Washington, D.C., Chicago and San Francisco. This summer’s tour of The Egg Play will visit Los Angeles from July 21 – 23 (venues TBA).
