“OOH LA LA” TO OPEN AT THEATER OF NOTE IN LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles, CA, June 9, 2012—One-woman show written and performed by native Vermonter Ramsey Brown opens on June 12 at Theater of Note

A pastiche of the classic Milton Bradley board game “Life”, Ramsey Brown delivers down-and-dirty stories of a twenty-something who crosses the Atlantic and Pacific oceans to find her “blue peg,” or true love.

Brown had always imagined herself as a “pink peg” driving through the maze of life, driving the perfect car, meeting the perfect man, and having extraordinary success—until she moves to LA and finds herself as a twenty-something where her life has gone awry.
A blah boyfriend is the first roll of the dice that sends her off to the city where love was invented — PARIS — to find romance. Miscues and false attempts land her on the New Year’s Eve space with no special someone to kiss, so it’s another roll to find adventure and potential romance at a friend’s wedding.

New Zealand is the next space where audiences are taken on a tour in hilarious company. Brown finds herself atop glaciers, at the bottom of the ocean and falling from planes. Ultimately Miss Brown finds that her game of Life may not be missing any pieces and she might be able stop looking behind the couch. A slide show that finishes the show serves to affirm that all her fantastic tales are in fact TRUE—and that this blonde bombshell embodies extraordinary resilience and optimism.

OOH LA LA, directed by Second City alumnus, Jane Morris, has been bringing audiences to their feet performance after performance in New England, Australia and California. Having already having found acclaim in Vermont, OOH LA LA is exited to hit Los Angels and will follow with runs in Minneapolis, New York, and Edinburgh.
