Hot Thoughts

Los Angeles, CA (May 2, 2022). Hot Thoughts, written and performed by Hannah Rice, is making its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2022. Witty and unapologetic, Hot Thoughts says the quiet part aloud; giving voice to the quirky, intense and, at times, perverted thoughts women have but often aren’t able to say. This international, solo comedy show features seven monologues from a series of women from different walks of life as they disclose their inner musings about sex, love and relationships. Hot Thoughts is doing a four-show run at Thymele Arts, 5481 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90029, June 5-25.

Hot Thoughts was born out of a simultaneous frustration with the state of female characters in the entertainment industry and an inspiration from performers breaking these boundaries. Playwright Hannah Rice, became fascinated with how female sexuality, love and relationships manifested in the media, versus how individuals conceptualized it in their private relationships and minds. Hot Thoughts was a way for these ideas to be brought to the forefront in a funny, heartbreaking and authentic manner.

Hannah Rice (Playwright/Actor)
Originally hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, Hannah Rice is a writer and actor who has worked in theatre and film in Auckland, Chicago and Los Angeles. Hannah has enjoyed writing for the stage and screen, with her play Blood Business being shortlisted for New Zealand Playmarket’s Playwrights b4 25 Competition in 2021. Having performed as an actor at Auckland Fringe Festival, Hannah is thrilled to be premiering Hot Thoughts at Hollywood Fringe Festival 2022.

Riel Geli (Producer)
Born in Manila, Philippines, Riel Geli is a producer, actor, and dancer who has performed and competed on stage in Los Angeles, and Manila. From 2015 – 2020, he was a member of the Company of Ateneo Dancers where he produced and performed a variety of pieces. His love of dance and story-telling eventually made him pursue a career in the film/theatre industry. Going back to his roots of story-telling, Riel is excited for the premiere of Hot Thoughts at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2022.
