But back in Spain, under the rule of the Dictator, (Generalissimo), he is being accused of moral and ethical misconduct by the powerful ”Artistic Decency Committee” that he never knew before. QUOTES ABOUT THE TRIAL OF DALI PLAY BY ANDY KOLO
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

“The Trial of Dali” by Andy Kolo takes the absurdity and humor to a new level and provides
a surrealistic satire of Dali’s life and his relationship to the world never before seen.

Emilie Moeller
-Hollywood Actress/Producer.

I recently had a pleasure of reading the stage play The Trail of Dali by Andy Kolo. The play was a genuine surprise. It’s richly layered work on many levels and is done with the kind of absurd/satiric writing that frankly, very few people can do.

Zbig Rybczynski

Oscar recipient

The tone of your play The Trial of Dali viscerally captures the absurdism and screwball humor of Dali and his strange artistic universe. The interactions between the characters and the challenges facing Dali throughout the trial, though wildly outlandish and unrealistic, are simultaneously legitimized by the script’s naturalistic dialogue and very real stakes, creating a feeling of “magical realism” that sincerely makes you question what is real, what is not, and what will happen next. Very well done!

I attended The “Trial “at Zenith Theatre last night and must compliment you on steering a wonderful ship through a complicated play. Stagecraft, setting and overall abstract visualization were superb. My compliments to the surreal cast who brought their craftsmanship to the fore. I was the next morning that it all became homogenous. Thank you for the joy and appreciation of your directional skills.

The Trial of Dali ticks some in-teresting boxes: new, definitely European sensibility at work in it though not of a classical kind, yet fresh, anarchic and American enough to offer something dif-ferent to an Australian audience. The trial process itself is a variant of courtroom farce, with hysterical or seductive counsel, a biased judge, and a guard who seems to have strayed in from a Muscle Beach Robot video game. The performance I saw struck me, in some way, as still a work in progress. The moments of choreographed dance, with stark lighting variations and intense movement, were brilliant, completely appropriate to the surrealistic potentials of the play.
